Everyone has probably heard of stress eating and has probably experienced it themselves one time or another. Something in your life is causing you stress, so your first instinct is to grab something to eat. What's worse is that these foods are probably some kind of junk food. No one stress eats a salad... You're stressed out from a recent break up, so you eat a bunch of ice cream. You're pulling an all nighter studying for an exam, so you eat a bunch of chips. You have an important deadline at work, so you eat a bunch of donuts.
This recent study on rats has found that not only the type of food eaten during stressful situations lead to fat gain, but what is actually happening in your body during a stressful situation may lead to even faster fat gain as well.
